Seventy-one players started the penultimate day of the 2014 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) Walsall Main Event with dreams and ambitions of becoming the latest in a long line of GUKPT champions. Those dreams ended prematurely for all but 12 of them and those 12 return to their seats at the Grosvenor Casino Walsall on Sunday afternoon to play for the title and the £29,000 first place prize.
Leading those 12 back into battle is Mo Qureshi who starts with 605,000 chips in his arsenal. Qureshi’s best result on the live circuit came in 2013 when he won the Grosvenor 25/25 series in Bolton for £11,500. He will need third place or better in Walsall to improve on that figure.

A seven on the river completed Winsor’s straight and the money bubble burst.
From there, Ben Jackson (20th for £1,100), Ellie Biessek (17th for £1,200), Leo McClean (15th for £1,200), and Jonathan Gill (14th for £1,400) were eliminated and earned some cash.
