Upon checking the latest UK online poker tournament rankings this afternoon, I was greeted with a new name, but one that is familiar to anyone who has even the slightest interest in tournament poker.
While the majority of the top 10 are the same players as last week, albeit in a slightly different order, the name occupying ninth place is new to my report. It is the name of European Poker Tour Barcelona champion Tom “hitthehole” Middleton.
For reasons unknown to me, probably because he wants to show how much of a boss he is, Middleton has entered his PokerStars, PokerStars.fr and Full Tilt Poker aliases into his PocketFives.com profile, resulting in him being captured in the latest rankings updates.
Thanks in part tohis WCOOP Challenge Main Event victory that banked Middleton 1,802.22 leader board points, Middleton comes straight in at ninth in the UK standings and 79th in the worldwide rankings.
One of Middleton’s good friends, Toby “810ofclubs” Lewis improved his rank this week and is now number three in the UK. Lewis’ points total received a boost from his 16th place finish in the PokerStars $109 NL Hold’em Turbo 2x Chance on Sunday and his fourth place finish in the $320 NL Hold’em 6-Max, also on PokerStars, on Monday.
There was yet another jump up the rankings ladder this week for Patrick “Pleno1” Leonard who is now occupying fifth place. In the past few days, Leonard has managed a fifth place in the Full Tilt Poker T-Rex ($7,584), a win in the $109 Rebuy at PokerStars ($10,342) and a deep in in SCOOP Event 06-Medium: $82 Rebuy Turbo ($1,737) all of which added another 450 points to his ever-increasing total.

Positions 11 through 20 have also had a reshuffle and two new players have entered the top 20 as a result.
Rob “rtinnion” Tinnion puts in a lot of volume at the virtual felt and has been reaping the rewards of late. A runner-up finish in the 888poker The $7,000 Breeze tournament ($2,745), a win in the $13.50 NL Hold’em Knockout at PokerStars ($1,402) and a third place in the Winamax RING ($2,094) all bolstered Tinnion’s points tally.
It was his recent runner-up finish in the SCOOP-01-L: $27 NL Hold’em 6-Max that secured a $56,531.00 payday and over 500 leader board points that catapulted Tinnion into the limelight of the top 20 ranked UK online poker tournament players.
The second new name is that of “Jambeyang” who is known as his online alias until my detective skills are put to full use. Jambeyang has almost $2.1 million in online tournament cashes including $11,287 that came from his sixth place finish in the Full Tilt Poker $250,000 Guarantee on Sunday.
Jambeyang helped himself to his 91st victory on Tuesday when he won the XPERT at Winamax for $7,653 and it is surely only a matter of time before he takes down his 100th.
