Patrick Leonard and Conor Beresford Climb UK Online Rankings

Patrick Leonard and Conor Beresford Climb UK Online Rankings 0001

It’s that time of the week again where I delve into the world of the UK online poker rankings and see who the big movers and shakers of the past seven days are.

You won’t be surprised to see the name of a certain Chris “Moorman1” Moorman sat proudly at the top of the table, mainly because it’s a position he has held for several months now and shows no signs of relinquishing his grip on.

Moorman actually put some distance between himself and second placed Rick “TheClaimeer” Trigg thanks in part to a fourth place finish in the Full Tilt Poker Super Sized Sunday ($13,455), a runner-up finish in the PokerStars.fr Hot €100 ($3,549), a runner-up finish in The Big €50 )$1,963) also on PokerStars.fr and a fifth place in the latest instalment of the PokerStars Super Tuesday. That last result banked Moorman $32,616.

Trigg has been doing his best to chase down the seemingly unstoppable Moorman and is continually snapping at his heels. Trigg came second in the Betfair Poker High Roller Monday for $7,808 and a couple of nights ago took down a $500 buy-in tournament on the Ongame network for a $10,199.40 score.

Jumping one place to eighth is Patrick “pleno1” Leonard who is having a superb 2014 in the tournament arena. A final table appearance in the €300 buy-in Sunday High Roller at PokerStars’ French site bagged Leonard $1,233 while his third place finish in the $320 NL Hold’em 6-Max at PokerStars.com added $3,780 to his coffers.

Also on the rise is Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford who seems to have a penchant for turbo blind structures. Beresford finished third in a $215 NL Hold’em turbo for $5,108 and won the $1101 NL Hold’em Heads-Up hyper Turbo Knockout for $1,838. Sandwiched between those two results like meat between two slice of bread is an impressive victory in the $320 NL Hold’em 6-Max, which was not a turbo but still saw Beresford secure a $9,126 payday.

The Top 20, supplied by PocketFives.com, has a new name in it, although I sadly do not know who it is! Going by the name of “Carpediem200,” the player from Kent is rapidly closing in on the $1 million in winnings barrier a figure that was brought closer by him – or her – finishing third in PokerStars’ Sunday Kickoff. Carpediem200 picked up $14,642.75 for their great result.

Special mentions have to go to Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer for his Sunday Million journey that ended in eighth place, and to recent addition to “The Daddy Club” Jon Spinks who finished fifth in The Biggest $55 for $16,587.

If you look outside of the Top 20 places you will find so many heroes that are one or two big results away from soaring up the leaderboard and entering the limelight.

Run It Once Pro Paul “Senterpied” Senter, Marcin “marcin123” Milde, Rob “rtinnion” Tinnion, Sam “TheSquid” Grafton, Ash “AshTheDonkey” Mason, Martin “molliemalone” Malone, Paul “Pvas2” Vas Nunes and Phill “bergeroo” Huxley being a selection of the wizards lurking in the shadows.

Don’t forget to tune in next week to see if Trigg has managed to catch Mr Moorman, the see if Leonard’s run has continued and if we have managed to find out who is “Carpediem200.”
