It may have taken several months to happen but the Irish online poker rankings have finally got a new number one after Gavin “gavonator” O’Rourke knocked Jude “j.thaddeus” Ainsworth from the top of the tree, a spot that Ainsworth had made his own.
O’Rourke won The $200,000 Whale at 888poker for a cool $60,750 and almost 500 leader board points and on the same night finished fourth in The Sunday Brawl at Full Tilt Poker for $18,673 and another 223 points.
A couple of nights ago, O’Rourke won the PokerStars.fr Hot €30 for almost $4,000 and now has until Sunday to complete what would be his first-ever PocketFives.com Triple Crown of titles.
Ainsworth is also on course for a Triple Crown after winning the Hot €20 at PokerStars .fr and then the Tyrannosaurus Rex at Full Tilt Poker for combined scores of $12,500 on Wednesday night. Ainsworth has one Triple Crown to his name (February 2013) but his chances of binking another are not going to be helped by the fact he is flying high in the UKIPT Nottingham Main Event.

Returning to the Top 20 this week is the talented Marc “sluglife” Macdonnell who is now in 15th place. Macdonnell looks to have increased his volume at PokerStars and Titan Poker and it is paying dividends at the moment.
