2014 World Series of Poker: Where You Should Stay – Part 3

The famous Las Vegas Strip at night

The 2014 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is upon us and everyone at PokerNews and in the poker community is tingling with excitement and anticipation for what should be the biggest and best WSOP in history.

Many of you who are reading this article will be seasoned WSOP veterans and have already booked your flights and accommodation, but a significant number of you will be sat there weighing up your options and wondered where the best places are to stay in Las Vegas during the 2014 WSOP.

If that second sentence describes you, you’re in for a treat because UK & Ireland PokerNews has selected a handful of Las Vegas hotels and provided a little blurb, review and price guide for each of them. Aren’t we nice?

In Part 1 of 2014 World Series of Poker: Where You Should Stay we looked at the Rio, Gold Coast, Palms and Bally’s. Part 2 took a peek at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the Bellagio, Caesars Palace and Aria and today we’ll focus our attention on Planet Hollywood, Paris, Harrah’s, Flamingo and The Quad.

Planet Hollywood
Planet Hollywood

Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Resort and Casino

3667 Las Vegas Blvd South
Mid-week Rates (Sun-Thu): $69
Weekend Rates (Fri-Sat): $169

It always feels like a party is going on at Planet Hollywood, which doesn’t make it idea to escape the hustle-bustle of Las Vegas, but will help you to distress and forget the bad beats you endured at the Rio!

In addition to 2,567 room, Planet Hollywood’s resort is also the home to Gordon Ramsay’s BurGR, Gallery Nightclub, the Pleasure Pool and the striptease spectacular Coco.

The Planet Hollywood poker room is the home to some of the softest cash $1/$2 NL Hold’em cash games on the Strip, something that I can personally vouch for from my trip to Las Vegas in 2013.

Paris Las Vegas
Paris Las Vegas

Paris Las Vegas

3655 Las Vegas Blvd South
Mid-week Rates (Sun-Thu): $79
Weekend Rates (Fri-Sat): $159

If you’re missing Europe and fancy a taste of France then head to Paris Las Vegas and your needs will be met. Here you can take a trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower, devour some amazing food at Gordon Ramsay’s Steak, go sweet crazy as Sugar Factory or bump into some celebs at Chateau Nightclub.

The hotel itself as 2,916 room, each featuring refrigerators, pay movies and video-game consoles for your entertainment.

Harrah's Las Vegas
Harrah's Las Vegas

Harrah’s Las Vegas

3475 Las Vegas Blvd South
Mid-week Rates (Sun-Thu): $40
Weekend Rates (Fri-Sat): $110

The 2,526-room Harrah’s Las Vegas hotel may be situated away from the bigger, more popular venues on the Strip but it is still within walking distance of all the major attractions. What’s more, there is a regular free shuttle that connects Harrah’s to the Rio so you can make your way to the WSOP for free!

Food lovers should check out Toby Keith’s I Love this Bar & Grill and Oyster Bar.

Flamingo Las Vegas
Flamingo Las Vegas

Flamingo Las Vegas

3555 Las Vegas Blvd South
Mid-week Rates (Sun-Thu) $45
Weekend Rates (Fri-Sat) $135

Under the iconic bright pink neon lights of the Flamingo is where you will find Margaritaville where you can sit back and relax and enjoy a gaming experience like no other – it’s probably the absolute opposite of the Rio where you will hopefully be spending plenty of time grinding at the WSOP.

The Flamingo hotel has 3,565 rooms with all the usual mod-cons. Budget for a taxi as the walk from Flamingo to the Rio is not what you want to be doing once never mind on a regular basis.

The Quad
The Quad

The Quad Resort and Casino

3535 Las Vegas Blvd South
Mid-week Rates (Sun-Thu): $35
Weekend Rates (Fri-Sat): $85

The Quad was formerly known as Imperial Palace and is perfect for those of you who are on a strict budget. It’s 2,640 rooms are available at $35 per night during the week and only $85 on a weekend!

Some of the features include the Auto Collection, Legends in Concert and Frank Marino’s Divas Las Vegas. If you need you belly filling then you can sample the massive portions at Hash House a Go Go!
