These late entrants pushed the prize pool to an impressive £15,500, which was to be shared by the top 17 finishers. The money bubble burst on Wednesday evening but not before there was an hour's worth of hand-for-hand play, during which time a number of big stacks emerged.
Angus Johnston (Strathclyde) was the unfortunate bubble boy, shoving his stack into the middle with and being called by the dominating . No help arrived on the board, Johnston busted and those with chips in front of them had locked up a minimum payout of £200.called by AT.
At 3:00am on Thursday morning, there were still nine players remaining and they will return to the tables on Thursday to compete for the title, the £4,570 first place prize and a £1,000 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour seat!
