Rafal Gizinski Leads UKIPT 4 Series Going Into Day 1c

The Hippodrome Casino played host to the PokerStars sponsored UKIPT Series 4 on Friday where the first two of three starting flights took place. A total of 173 players bought in over the two starting flights and of those 52 managed to safely navigate their way through the choppy waters of a live poker tournament’s opening flights.

Leading the way going into Day 2 – prior to Saturday’s Day 1c – is Poland’s Rafal Gizinski who bagged up 149,500 chips at the end of Day 1a. Seven other players joined Gizinski in the “100k club” those being Thomas Postlethwaite (147,100), Pablo Martin Romo (142,300), Mats Rosen (128,600), Antonio Merlino (121,300), Mike Shaw (115,500), the double UKIPT Main Event winner Joeri Zandvliet (110,900), Alejandro Perez Torres (101,000).

Other notables who progressed include Kirit Patel (80,600) and World Series of Poker bracelet winner Mike Ellis (60,400) while it was game over for Full Tilt Poker Ambassador Sin Melin and comedian-commentator extraordinaire Joe “Stapes” Stapleton.

Day 1c commences at 2:00pm on Saturday afternoon with those who survived Day 1a, b and c will congregate around the Hippodrome casino’s poker room on Sunday to complete the tournament.
