Chris Moorman Still Leads The UK Online Poker Rankings

Chris Moorman

The past seven days have been relatively quiet for the players currently ranked in the top 20 in the UK online poker rankings, with many taking a few days away from the virtual over the Easter weekend.

Sat atop of the pile, as he has for many weeks, is Chris Moorman with his 7,207.09 points total. Moorman is out in the U.S.A for the World Poker Tour World Championship so hasn’t been able to play any online poker, giving the chasing pack chance to close the gap on him.

Moorman’s nearest rival is still Rick “TheClaimeer” Trigg who has seen the gap between himself and Moorman widen to around 368 points. Trigg did finish third in the Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan for $7,200 and won the PokerStars $22 NL Hold’em $12K Guaranteed on Tuesday night, but that last result has yet to be added to his points tally.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, Charlie “chaz_man_chaz” Combes leapfrogged Niall “firaldo87” Farrell into fifth place following a runner-up finish in the PokerStars $55 NL Hold’em Turbo 2x Chance for $9,072 and the fact Farrell was too bust drinking lager in Dublin where he also binked a side event at the Irish Open for €14,110.

Also climbing one place, this time from tenth to ninth, is Patrick “Pleno1” Leonard who has been in the form of his life of late. Leonard finished second in Sunday’s T-Rex at Full Tilt Poker for $18,486 and then completed a hat trick of runner-up finishes when he busted second in the $265 NL Hold’em Knockout and $33 NL Hold’em 1R1A both at PokerStars.

The biggest climber in the Top 20 this week was Luke “Bit2Easy” Reeves who went from 20th to 15th place. Reeves’ rise was partly down to him winning the Full Tilt Poker Turbo Hundo for $3,200, and having a 23rd place in the Sunday Supersonic ($1,048).

A large number of the top 20 players are currently making their way to Monaco for the European Poker Tour Grand Final festivities, which gives those lurking just outside of the limelight the chance to make a break for the leaderboard.

Players such as “carpediem123,” Marcin “marcin123” Milde, Matas “bebaimis777” Cimbolas, Paul “Senterpied” Senter, Martin “susie00” Malone, Paul “pvas2” Vas Nunes and Rob “Rtinnion” Tinnion are each only a couple of big scores away from entering the top 20.
