David McConachie had a superb day at the felt during Flight 3 of the partypoker World Poker Tour National UK London Main Event, ending the night with a monster-sized stack of 157,100. It was the only Flight McConachie played and is large enough to see him go into Day 2 seventh in chips.
At the very top of the chip counts is the name of Onise Daneliya, who has 252,300 chips at his disposal. Hot on Daneliya’s heels, and the only other player to surpass 200,000 chips, is Ryan Kelly and his 222,700 stack. Both players have given themselves a realistic chance of leaving the fantastic Aspers Casino Stratford with the title of WPT National UK London champion.
Look down the chip counts to the player in fourth place and you will notice it is arguably the biggest name left in the tournament, despite it only containing nine letters in total. It is of course the name of partypoker Team Pro Kara Scott who has 178,400 chips in her stack after competing during all three starting flights.
Scott has left her microphone at home this weekend and is sat at the other side of the felt for a change. Should Scott progress through to the money places – something that is essentially odds on with her stack – it would be her first cash of 2014 and a nice follow-up to her deep run in the World Poker Tour Prague Main Event that took place in December 2013 – Scott finished 22nd for €7,800.
