Gruaiggorm Jumps Seven Places in the Irish Online Rankings
The Irish poker player known in online poker circles as “Gruaiggorm” or “Acid Mouse” depending on whether he’s at PokerStars or Full Tilt Poker is knocking on the door of a top 10 berth in the Irish online poker rankings after jumping seven place to 12th after the latest update.
My research into who the mystery man is continues to turn up blanks, but one thing is for sure and that is whoever he is, he knows his way are the low and mid-stakes poker tournaments. He had a great Sunday, cashing 12 times in total and helping himself to over $11,000 in winnings. The bulk of that impressive sum came from two excellent results at PokerStars: a win in the $8.80 rebuy for $8,151 and a 4th place finish in the $44 NL Hold’em turbo for an additional $3,089.
If you know who the man is behind these two alias’ do let me know!
The top 10 ranked players are the exact same as last week (they’re even in the same order) with Jude Ainsworth being the man to catch in the Emerald Isle. Ainsworth now has an 819 point lead and that is unlikely to be bridged over the next week as his nearest rival, Gavin “gavonater” O’Rourke has put together a deep run in the European Poker Tour Vienna Main Event and will likely take a few days off to recharge his batteries.
Ainsworth, of course, also had a deep run in the same tournament, eventually falling in 21st place for a €27,300 score.
Should Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas continue with his phenomenal work ethic then it is surely only a matter of time before he catches O’Rourke and then Ainsworth. Since his win in the PokerStars Hot $33 last Friday, Geleziunas has cashed 43 times, reached 13 final tables and won the $109 1R1A to boot!
