Paul Foltyn and Chris Moorman Among the Big Winners On Sunday

Paul Foltyn and Chris Moorman

It has been a roller coaster of a weekend for fans of Leeds united with their manager being sacked on transfer deadline day, rumours of a new owners (who have a history of corruption), a 5-1 victory over local rivals Huddersfield Town and then the reinstatement of the aforementioned sacked manager! Some fans were understandably left scratching their heads, but one was left adding zeroes to his bankroll after a couple of great results at PokerStars on Superbowl Sunday.

Doncaster-based Leeds fan Paul Foltyn managed to put all the goings on at his beloved Leeds United to one side as he went on a tear in the Turbo Championship Of Online Poker (TCOOP) Event#46, the $215 Sunday Warm-Up Special Edition. Foltyn, playing as “Paulo69,” was one of 5,260 entrants who helped created a prize pool in excess of $1 million. Although Foltyn couldn’t quite go all the way and scoop the $165,037.76 first place prize, he did finish third for a still-juicy $86,790.00. #MOT

Later on Sunday, Foltyn entered the $109 Sunday Rebuy with 1,166 other hopefuls and once again he put in a remarkable performance that saw him reach the final table. Unfortunately for Foltyn, his run good ended with him finishing in eighth place, which bagged him an additional $8,329.50 for his efforts. It’s fair to say that Foltyn had a solid, winning Sunday.

There were also substantial cash hauls at PokerStars for the likes of Tom “Jabracada” Hall, “MrKloutt,” and Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer.

Sebastian Saffari Finishes Third in the $250,000 Guaranteed at Full Tilt Poker

It seems a Sunday doesn’t go by without Sebastian Saffari banking a huge score at Full Tilt Poker, and this Sunday was no different. Saffari, using the moniker “thereal_bandito,” blasted his way through the majority of the 1,411 strong field before falling in third place for a cool $26,809.00.

Saffari’s fellow Brits Rick “TheClaimer” Trigg (25th) and Ben “BILLGATESTILTIN” Jones (13th) both put together fine runs in Full Tilt Poker’s flagship weekly tournament but fell short of joining Saffari at the final table.

Plenty of British and irish players enjoyed deep runs in the Full Tilt Poker Sunday Majors, including Jude “j_thaddeus” Ainsworth, Kevin “SuitedAcesBaby” Killeen, “the angleman” and Jareth “hteraaj2001” East.
