Day 1c of the Genting Poker Series Star City Main Event took place on Friday afternoon and saw a total of 202 entries processed. This took the total to an impressive enough 437 over the course of three starting flights, a figure made more impressive by the fact the United Kingdom is currently in the midst of the worst storms in years and Friday being Valentine’s Day.

Nick Tate turned his 30,000 starting stack into 234,500 chips and earned himself the title of Day 1c chip leader as a result. Tate has done his chances of securing the eighth live tournament cash of his career no harm by excelling on the final starting flight of this £440 buy-in Main Event.

Tate was kept company at the top of the chip counts by Alex Spencer (167,600), Dan Hardy (147,900) and Arran Fletcher (142,400), while Steve Warburton (130,600), Tan Le (88,000), Jeff Kimber (74,400), Andrew “stato_1” Hulme (64,500), Alex Goulder (63,800), Tom Hall (61,600), Phil “bergeroo” Huxley (55,400), Simon Deadman (51,600), Chaz Chattha (45,300), and James Atkin (45,200) also bagged up more chip than what they started with.
