British gambling giant Ladbrokes has launched a new live dealer service as part of its partnership deal with fellow London Stock Exchange listed Playtech.
Ladbrokes and software gurus Playtech have an agreement that will see all of Ladbrokes’ products moved to the Playtech platform in time for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Ladbrokes’ online poker arm made the switch from MPN – formerly known as Microgaming – in December 2013 and the migration of back office systems is already well under way.
Jim Mullen, Ladbrokes Digital’s Managing Director spoke of the new live dealer games: “Playtech live dealer further extends the range of Playtech’s market leading products available to Ladbrokes customers. The launch follows the delivery of the Vegas tab of casino games in July, the Mobenga sports betting mobile app in December and the launch of Playtech poker on our gaming site just before Christmas.”
Ladbrokes customers can now enjoy 24/7 gaming via Playtech’s live casino in Lativa. At launch, six live dealer tables are available featuring blackjack, roulette casino Hold’em and baccarat. The live casino games can be played from the iPad.
Ladbrokes’ digital arm, which includes being able to play online poker, has been failing badly with the last financial figures showing a 28% decrease in operating profit. Many city analysts see the partnership with Playtech as one last roll of the dice, although others believe Playtech could attempt to acquire Ladbrokes at some point.
Playtech Launch Gala Casinos Tablet App
Playtech has been busy these past few months and in addition to the New Dealer platform for Ladbrokes, also launched a tablet app for Gala Casinos that is unique to Gala Interactive. The new app is based on Playtech’s tried and tested Mobile Hub technology although it was further developed by engineers at Gala Interactive and Playtech to create a product that is unique to Gala.
Playtech’s Head of Mobile, Eran Sharar, is delighted with the end product: “We are very excited to launch the new tablet offering for Gala Interactive. The new mobile offering features an intuitive design for tablet users whilst offering the most comprehensive range of Bingo and slots games in the market. This ensures Gala Interactive’s product for tablet devices is second to none. I’m sure the benefits of this innovation and Playtech’s new model will benefit Gala and will support its future growth in one of the most exciting channels in our industry”
