Jon Spinks and Ben Jones Return to the Top 10 UK Online Rankings

Jon Spinks

This week’s biggest mover in the United Kingdom online poker rankings is none other than dad-to-be, Mr Jon Spinks. Spinks had a super Sunday at the virtual felt and banked him over $43,000 in cashes and took his lifetime online earning to over $3.8 million.

Spinks’ first cash on Sunday came in the $265 NL Hold’em Knockout at PokerStars where Spinks finished a respectable 21st for $601. A few relatively small three-figure scores were dwarfed by the $30,639.50 that Spinks helped himself to when he finished second in The Bigger $55. Amazingly, this huge sum of money is only the 15th largest of Spinks’ online career so far; nice brag IMO.

Not content with his five-figure cash, Spinks continued grinding and ended up winning the $215 buy-in Weekly H.O.R.S.E tournament for $3,216 and then came third in the PokerStars $109 rebuy for an additional $6,745. Superb results, we’re sure you’ll agree.

Also returning to the top 10 places in the rankings is Ben “Jenbizzle” Jones, despite the fact he last added points to his tally on February 16 when he finished sixth in the Sunday 2nd Chance at PokerStars for a shade over $11,500. The way the rankings work is older results decay and are worth less as they age, so some of Jones’ scores are more current and valuable than those of his nearby opponents.

The legendary Chris Moorman is still the man to catch following another string of impressive results over the past seven days. We’re in danger of sounding like a stuck record, but Moorman is one of poker’s legitimate superstars and nothing he does surprises us anymore. By the end of February, we will bet that Moorman pushes through the $11 million barrier for lifetime online cashes; he is currently on $10,924,986 in winnings! Ridiculous.

Before signing this article off, I need to give a mention and a congratulations to Sebastian Saffari for winning the €250 6-Max Club at – the 65th win of his career – and following that impressive result up with a fifth place in the Full Tilt Poker ExPLOsivo for $1,215 and a fourth place in the Saturday Six-Max ($4,290) also at Full Tilt Poker.

Honourable mentions too to Marcin Milde for his brace of fourth places in the €12,500 GTD rebuy and High Roller Monday at Titan Poker, Luke Reeves for his final table appearance in the Full Tilt Poker $250,000 Guarantee and Matas “bebaimis777” Cimbolas who has been bossing the mid-stakes tournaments for months now and putting in some fantastic results.
