2014 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final Schedule Announced
On Monday, the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final released the schedule for the 11-day, 48-event series set for April 23 through May 2, 2014.
The EPT Grand Final will coincide with the France Poker Series (FPS) for the first time, featuring more tournaments with buy-ins of €500 or less than ever before. The Grand Final will be highlighted by the €10,000 Main Event along with the €1,100 FPS Monaco Main Event.
Last year, Steve O'Dwyer outlasted a field of 531 players to claim victory and a €1.2 million payday in the €10,000 Main Event. O'Dwyer outlasted arguably the toughest final table recorded in EPT history, one that included Johnny Lodden, Daniel Negreanu, Jake Cody, Noah Schwartz, and Jason Mercier.
For the high rollers of the poker world, there will also be a €2,200 FPS High Roller, a €25,500 EPT High Roller, and a show-stopping €100,000 Super High Roller. Last year’s champions included Max Altergott, winner of the Super High Roller for €1,746,400, and Steven Silverman, winner of the High Roller for €775,400 after a three-way deal.
In addition to these featured events, 21 tournaments will be offered for an entry fee of €500 and below, giving players of all bankroll sizes an opportunity to get in on the action. The EPT will also be providing 40 cash-game tables offering Hold’em, Omaha, stud, draw, open-face Chinese, and open-face Chinese Pineapple.
“The EPT has been leading the way in live poker for 10 years, and this year’s EPT Grand Final will be the biggest and best ever,” said EPT President Edgar Stuchly.
This year, the EPT is offering a number of ways for players to freeroll their way to a €14,400 Grand Final Main Event package. Satellites are running daily on PokerStars.com until April 5, with one Main Event package plus €1,000 in cash prizes awarded each week.
