Toby Lewis Climbs to 4th in the UK Rankings

Toby Lewis

Another week has passed us all by meaning it is that time again folks, yes it is time for the updated United Kingdom and Ireland rankings to be revealed. Without further ado, let’s get down to business and see which players are in the top 10 places of the leader boards this week.

Still in the number one seat is Chris Moorman who extended his lead over the chasing pack thanks to a fifth place finish in the 888poker $200,000 guaranteed Whale tournament on Sunday. Moorman added $14,040 to his lifetime earnings and 170.70 precious points to his already impressive total.

Charlie Combes cemented himself in second place after finishing fourth in last weekend’s Super Sized Sunday at Full Tilt Poker. In addition to the $12,641 in prize money, Combes also accrued 155.61 leader board points to put some distance between himself and third placed Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer.

The two biggest climbers this week were Toby “810ofclubs” Lewis and the in-form Ben “jenbizzle” Jones. Lewis flew up from eighth place to fourth in the UK standings thanks to winning the Full Tilt Poker Big Ben tournament on Sunday and following that up with some demolition of French player at both Winamax and, including a third place finish in the Winamax Series High Roller for $48,810.

Jones needs no introduction, mainly because he is all we have spoken about since 2014 began. Jones’ latest victory came at PokerStars when he took down the Supersonic for over $54,000 in a little under two hours. #WAL

Gavin O’Rourke Mounts a Charge On Ireland’s Number One Spot

Jude “j.thaddeus” Ainsworth’s long-held number one spot in the Irish rankings could be under threat after a string of impressive results from Gavin “gavonater” O’Rourke.

O’Rourke climbed to within 500 points of Ainsworth and a staggering 200 places in the worldwide rankings thanks to a superb run of form that has seen him go deep and win a number of online events. Some of O’Rourke’s recent results are show below:

  • 4th in the Hot $44 at PokerStars for $3,789
  • 8th in The Big $109 at PokerStars for $2,774
  • 5th in the $215 turbo at PokerStars for $3,155
  • 1st in the Sunday Warm-Up at for $26,222
  • 1st in the W Series High Roller at Winamax for $95,232

Good results for Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas and Kevin “SuitedAcesBaby” Killeen saw them leapfrog a couple of places over Steve “MrTimCaum” O’Dwer who has been battling it out in the Bahamas at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure for the past few weeks.

A win in the PokerStars $55 rebuy on Monday night for Geleziunas and a second place in the Sunday Second Chance, also at PokerStars, for Killeen were the highlights of their past week.
