2013 has been another superb year for poker in the United Kingdom and Ireland and UK & Ireland PokerNews is proud to have kept you up to date with all of the goings on over the past 12 months.
With 2013 almost over, we though it would be fun to recap the biggest and most popular stories that graced the UK & Ireland PokerNews pages over the past year, starting with those that occurred in January 2013.

British online player Ryan "MouldyOnions" Bell got his 2013 off to a flying start when he achieved Supernova status at PokerStars in only two days of play! this means that Bell earned 100,000 VPPs in 48-hours, something most players struggle to achieve over the course of a full year.
Simon Deadman started 2013 on fire as he took down the WPT National Dublin Main Event for a cool €67,500. Deaman had to navigate his way around a dangerous final table that was the home to the likes of Fintan Gavin, Ben Carpenter and Jack Salter.
Leeds-based Rochdale lad and Triple Crown winner Jake Cody joined the ranks of poker's elite when he became a Team PokerStars Pro. Cody was unveiled as the newest member of the exclusive team at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
Rupert Elder, the former European Poker Tour San Remo champion, added an Aussie Million win to his impressive poker CV when he took down the opening event of the 2013 Aussie Millions.
Elder defeated the talented Martin Finger heads-up to secure a $250,000 payday.
Multi Prize Pool Poker, the brainchild of popular Welshman Roberto Romanello, had a successful launch at the Dusk Till Dawn club in Nottingham. The brand new concept seemed set to take the live poker scene by storm, but does seem to have no fizzled out somewhat as 2013 has progressed. Will it enjoy a revival in 2014?
The Global Poker Index launched their Fantasy Poker Manager client on Facebook and it was immediately a roaring success. Players can draft their favourite players, challenge friends and win some great prizes. We expect bigger things from the Fantasy Poker App in 2014.
