UK & Ireland Online Rankings: Moorman Leads, Saffari and Margereson Climb
The online poker rankings, supplied by PocketFives.com, only have one more update remaining in 2013 and it looks like Chris Moorman is going to be the UK & Ireland’s number one as this year ends and 2014 begins.
Moorman now has 7,377.32 leader board points to his name, some 772.94 points more than second placed Jude Ainsworth. Moorman slipped to number four in the world this week, mainly because of a lack of online volume with him competing at the various events in Prague, but he still managed a trio of four-figure scores.
Whether or not Moorman puts in plenty of playing hours over the festive period remains to be seen, but we would not bet against him attempting to reclaim the worldwide number one spot before 2014 is welcomed in.
Position two through four remain exactly the same as last week despite Rhys “floppinhel” Jones helping himself to a $2,934 in the Full Tilt Poker $250,000 Guarantee and a $12,152 payday when he finished second in the 888poker $70,000 TURBO Mega Deep. Watch out for Jones in 2014, mark our words!
Time is running out to race your way to a share of $3,000 in our exclusive Redbet Rake Race.
Sebastian Saffari climbed from eighth up to fifth thanks to adding over 560 points to his total when he won the PokerStars $109 Sunday Rebuy for a cool $58,830. That result sent Saffari’s online career earning over the $3 million mark, an amazing achievement.
Another player moving in the right direction is Scott “Aggro Santos” Margereson who moved up once place to ninth despite not recording any more cashes since his third place finish in the Super Tuesday two weeks ago; Margereson must be taking a deserved break from the felt.
Climbing back into the top 10 is Jon Spinks who has had a year to remember. Spinks binked his largest live cash at EPT Deauville when he won the €2,200 side event for €141,250 and recently chopped the £2,200 High Roller at the UKIPT Nottingham Six-Max for £23,554. Add to that the fact Spinks is to become a father for the first time and that his long-term girlfriend is now his fiancée and it is easy to see why Spinks is on cloud nine right now. Congratulations on your engagement, Mr Spinks.

We seem to say it every week but there are so many heroes and wizards lurking outside the top 10 who only need one or two decent scores to oust some of those in the limelight. Players such as Ross “RLOG” Loggie, Andrew “stato_1” Hulme, Paul “badpab2” Foltyn, Lucas “Bit2Easy” Reeves and Sam Grafton are a handful of those who could mount a late charge into the top 10.
