The World Poker Tour Heads to The Casino MK

The Casino MK

The second leg of the new partypoker World Poker Tour National UK Series sees the famous WPT brand splattered all over the recently opened super casino in Milton Keynes, known as The Casino MK.

Running from December 19 through to December 22, the WPT National Milton Keynes Main Event gives players the chance to compete in the new accumulator format and to do so at The Casino MK’s 150-seat poker room.

The WPT National Milton Keynes features three starting flights with each flight costing £200 to enter (£180+£20). Players can buy into one, two or all three start days and if they progress to Day 2 they will take any chips they finished with on their chosen start days and accumulate them into one larger stack!

John Scanlon, the Poker Room Manager for Aspers, explains the accumulator format: “Players have the option to buy-in to one, two or all three of the Day one flights. At the end of each flight, we bag your chips and move them forward to Day 2. All chips from each flight are accumulated to give players their total starting stack for Day 2.

“The tournament is based on an innovative format from the Aussie Millions, where there was a big buzz amongst players about the best strategy to play. The structure is all about bringing more people into the game at various levels of buy-ins.”

The inaugural WPT National UK event took place in October 2013 and saw a massive crowd of 510 players create a prize pool of £91,800, with the eventual champion John Ventre banking £20,250 of that impressive sum. Whether or not the Milton Keynes leg will be able to match those impressive figures with EPT and WPT Prague taking place in addition to it being the week before Christmas remains to be seen, but whoever turns out for the £200 accumulator event is sure to be in for a real treat due to the impressive venue the event is taking place in.

The Aspers owned The Casino MK is one of the UK’s so-called Super Casinos and is a very impressive establishment. Featuring 36,500 square feet of floor area, 108 slot machines, 22 gaming tables and 76 electronic gaming terminals in addition to the 150-seat poker room, it is easy to see why The Casino MK has the title of Super Casino!

Away from the gaming floor is a 40-seat restaurant called Clary’s Bar & Grill that serves a la carte food 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
