Scotland’s David Vamplew added an FTOPS title to his already impressive poker CV. Vamplew, a former European Poker Tour champion – he won the London leg in 2010 – bested a field of 2,329 in the $320 buy-in FTOPS Event #20, a result that netted him a cool $111,768.04.

Ben Mayhew Wins the 2013 UKIPT Nottingham Six-Max Main Event

There were emotional scenes at the Dusk Till Dawn casino this week as Ben Mayhew took down the £1,100 UKIPT Nottingham Six-Max Main Event. Mayhew bagged himself £72,840 following a three-way deal and dedicated his victory to his late father.

Former Danish professional footballer Thomas Gravesen had a reputation for being a tough tackler, but it was not common knowledge that he was also an astute businessman.

Gravesen invested a large portion of his wages into a number of financial companies and those investments bore fruit and left Gravesen with a €100 million fortune! Gravesen, now fully retired, plans on heading to Las Vegas with his Czech-born model girlfriend to live the high life.

888 Extends a US Partnership / Unibet Plan Standalone Software

British gambling firm 888 Holdings have extended their partnership with Optimal Payments — the parent company of Neteller – for the regulated U.S. market.

Elsewhere, Unibet announced plans to leave the former Microgaming network, now known as MPN, in 2014 to set up its own standalone software and online poker site. It is a big blow to MPN as Ladbrokes are also set to leave before 2013 ends.
