The second and third starting flights in the partypoker World Poker Tour National UK Milton Keynes Main Event took place on Friday, a date known collectively around the United Kingdom as “Mad Friday” due to it being the final Friday before Christmas and usually results in some pre-holiday madness in pubs and clubs around the country.
There was little madness inside the Casino MK during “Mad Friday,” as over 160 players bought into the two starting flights as they attempted to accumulate enough chips to see them progress to Day 2 with a stack that would allow them to go deep in this prestigious event.
Topping Flight 2’s 37 surviving players was Alan Linford who turned his 20,000 starting stack into 115,200 during the eight 30-minute levels. Linford was the only player on Flight 2 to finish with a six-figure stack, although Andrew Sledmore (94,100) and Renata Jack (83,300) came close.

Flight 3 took place at 8:00pm on Friday night and saw 84 players refrain from the festivities to compete in the £200 accumulator tournament. The casino was packed with revellers and cash game players, but Gary Miller managed to drown out the noise and finish with a 118,700 stack to top the flight. Robert Barry (105,200), Jay Villegas (103,400) and Nicholas Humphis (100,500) each ended the night with over 100,000 chips each.

Day 2 commences at 3:00 pm on Saturday afternoon and sees 94 players return to the brand new Super Casino to play 12 40-minute levels. During that time the money bubble should burst, although prize pool information was not available at time of writing.
Leading the 94 hopefuls back into battle is Jay Villegas who managed to accumulate a tournament leading stack of 158,200 chips over the course of three starting flights. Other big stacks include Flight 1 chip leader Christopher Thomson (142,000), Robert Barry (141,900), Renata Jack (135,300), Andrew Brisland (130,200) and Stephen Bean (125,300).
