Jareth East Climbs to Third in the UK & Ireland Online Rankings 0001

Jareth East continues to rack up the big scores and the Reigate-based grinder now finds himself ranked 28th the world and third in the UK & Ireland rankings, provided by

Every Monday morning, I write an article that showcases the best results from online poker’s Sunday Majors. Almost without fail, East’s name crops up, him having bagged another impressive score. East came third in the PokerStars Super Tuesday in late October ($55,555) and then won the Full Tilt Poker Sunday Brawl the following month ($51,200). Then this weekend, East finished fifth in the FTOPS Main Event for a career-best $82,650 and it is surely only a matter of time before East helps himself to a six-figure score.

East would be in second place in the UK rankings, but here at UK & Ireland PokerNews we combined the UK and Irish standings to compile this article and as a result falls one place behind Ireland’s Jude Ainsworth. The man from Galway continues to impress in every tournament that he plays and now has lifetime online tournament winnings of almost $5.3 million.

Chris Moorman is still way out in front of the rest of the UK & Ireland players, with Rhys “floppinhel” Jones and Charlie “JIZOINT” Combes jostling for fourth and fifth place; there is only 23 points between them.

Making up the rest of the top 10 are Christopher Brammer, Toby Lewis, Sebastian Saffari, Ireland’s second entry with Tomas Geleziunas and the in-form Scott “Aggro Santos” Margereson.

Look outside the top 10 ranked players and you will find some talented individuals ready to mount a charge up the leader board. Jon Spinks, Bournemouth-based Spaniard Oscar “MendaLerenda” Serradell and Ross “RLOG” Loggie are only a deep run in one of the majors away from breaking back into the top 10. It should be an exciting end to 2013, that is for sure.
