Christopher Brammer Ends 2013 With a Bang
The final Sunday Majors of 2013 took place this weekend and thousands of players took to the virtual felts of PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, partypoker, the iPoker Network and 888poker hoping to bank a big score or two as the year rapidly draws to a close.
It turned out to be a great Sunday for one of our own, Christopher Brammer, who final tabled the PokerStars Sunday Million and the Full Tilt Poker Sunday Brawl.
Brammer, known affectionately as “NigDawG” when he is terrorising his fellow poker players in the largest tournaments PokerStars has to offer, finished seventh in last weekend’s Sunday 500 and followed up that impressive finish with fifth in this week’s Sunday Million and a sixth place Sunday Brawl.
The Sunday Million result netted the Hampshire lad a $70,008.00 score, which is the fourth largest online cash of Brammer’s glittering career and one that takes his lifetime winnings at PokerStars past the $2.3 million barrier.
The $8,704.80 that Brammer claimed for his sixth place in the Sunday Brawl only tells a portion of the story because the tournament is played to a bounty format and awards $40 for each opponent a player eliminates. Having watched Brammer send countless players to the sidelines throughout 2013, we can only start to imagine how much more money he won by claiming the scalps of busted players on his way to yet another final table.
A special mention must go to “davjon” of the United Kingdom who finished in ninth place in this week’s Sunday Million for a bankroll-boosting $13,564.05. There’s no doubt that the first round of New Year’s Eve beers will be on davjon!
Another player who is sure to be celebrating as 2014 begins is Ireland’s “flynnster198.” Until this Sunday, Cork-based flynnster198’s largest online poker tournament cash stood at $4,650, but now he obliterated that amount by locking up $30,504.03 following a three-handed deal in The Bigger $162. Congratulations, sir.

Full Tilt Poker
Over at PokerStars’ sister site Full Tilt Poker, British players were busy reaching final tables of the site’s biggest Sunday tournaments.
We already mentioned Brammer’s sixth place finish in the Sunday Brawl and now we shed light on Luke “Bit2Easy” Reeves’ fifth place in the Big Ben that added $4,108.00 to the coffers.
There were also near misses for Mathew “matfrankland” Frankland (8/1352 for $5,678.40) and “Sibyline” (6/1352 for $10,545.60) in the $250,000 Guarantee, while Main Event Travel sponsored pro Rhys “floppin_ell” Jones reached the final table of the $635 buy-in Super Sized Sunday, finishing 7/209 for $4,389.00.
Joining Jones on that final table were Steve “MrTimCaum” O’Dwyer (3/209 for $15,675.00) and the UK’s “Seldoon” (1/209 for $32,604.00). Yes we know that O’Dwyer is American, but he has Ireland listed as his home country and that is good enough for us, especially when he finishes third in such a prestigious online event!
