The inaugural partypoker World Poker Tour National UK London Main Event has reached its third and final day where only 13 players remain. One of these returning players will leave the Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford City with a bankroll-boosting £20,250.
The third and final starting flight took place on Friday evening and saw 167 players exchange £200 for 20,000 tournament chips and the chance to become a WPT National champion. Over the course of eight 30-minute levels, the dream ended for all but 70 of them.
The chip leader from Flight 3 was Kaushal Davda (145,100) followed by five players with only 10,500 chips between them: Eamonn Gavin (112,400), Jonathan Weekes (111,900), Elizabeth Stone (111,000), Sailajan Shritharan (106,900) and Stuart Nash (101,900).
On Saturday’s Day 2, 164 players returned to the partypoker emblazoned felt and by the time nine 30-minute levels were in the bag, only 13 players remained.
Leading the final 13 was John Ventre, who with 2,243,000 chips, has almost 800,000 more than anyone else in the field. Ventre has one previous major tournament cash to his name, a 26th place finish in a €1,000 side event at the 2011 European Poker Tour Bracelona festival. Ventre won €2,500 for that effort.
