UK & Ireland Poker Rankings: New Face in the Top 10; Moorman Still Number One

Chris Moorman has retained the number one spot in the UK & Ireland poker rankings following their latest update. With Moorman winning his 18th Triple Crown, many though that the Essex lad would have reclaimed the top spot in the worldwide rankings, but that was not the case because Moorman was pipped to the post by Ondrej “Vinkyy” Vinklarek.

In the world standings, Moorman is placed second with Ireland’s Jude “j.thaddeus” Ainsworth fifth and Toby “810ofclubs” Lewis nestled in 10th. A quick scan of the top 100 reveals no fewer than eight players who call the UK or Ireland home are among the top 100 players in the world.

The new face in the UK & Ireland poker rankings is a player who left his native Spain and now resides in the coastal resort town of Bournemouth. Oscar “MendaLerenda” Serradell has over $1.5 million in online poker tournament winnings, the majority of which comes from his time at PokerStars.

Recently, Serradell has been tearing up the virtual felt at partypoker. Below are a small selection of his partypoker results of the past few weeks.

  • 2nd in the $12,500 Gtd for $2,639

  • 3rd in the $20,000 Gtd Speed for $2,359
  • 6th in the $10,000 td Speed for $700

One man who continues to impress is Jareth “jareth3542” East. After finishing third in this week’s Super Tuesday at PokerStars, a result that netted him a career-best score of $55,555, East has climbed to eighth in the UK & Ireland rankings and has seventh placed Rhys “floppinhel” Jones in his sights.

Mentions have to go to Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer who won the $25 and $51 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Hyper-Turbo tournaments at PokerStars on Tuesday for over $7,500 combined. Also, to Sebastian Saffari for his runner-up finish in the $530 Po Limit Omaha at PokerStars on Monday, a result that banked him $13,563.
