partypoker Weekly: WPT Montreal Mission, Kara Scott's Malta Tips and More
New #pokermission: WPT Montreal
partypoker has issued a new poker mission to its customers, one based around the upcoming WPT Montreal festival. Complete the mission's five objectives and you will win a seat to a special freeroll, on November 3, where the winner takes home a $5,000 WPT Montreal package and the second and third plae finishers each win a $3,650 WPT Montreal entry.
If you want to bag yourself a seat in that special freeroll, you must complete all five of the following objectives before 11:59 p.m ET on October 31.
- Play 1,867 hands of any real money poker game type (Canada was founded in 1867). Heads-up tables and freerolls are excluded.
- Win with these starting hands: 9-9, 7-7, 8-7 suited, 6-6 and 3-3 (these are jersey numbers of legendary Canadian hockey players)
- Play three multi-table tournaments that have at least 25 participants in them (this represents Canada's three territories)
- Play 10 Sit & Go tournaments, but not heads-up (representing Canada's 10 provinces)
- Play at least one hand on six different days (a day for each of Canada's six time zones)
To start this mission, go to your "Missions" section, then "WPT Montral", then click "Start Mission." Good luck!
Kara Scott's Malta Hangouts
Kara Scott, one of the partypoker Team Pros, was in Malta recently for the Battle of Malta tournament. While in Malta, Scott visited three of her favourite places there. Can you guess which three venues Scott headed to?
Win Your Way to the WPT Montreal Main Event Plan B
Should you not complete the above poker mission or do complete it and don;t win one of the three prizes in the special freeroll fear not because you can still win your way to WPT Montreal.
The 2013 edition of WPT Montreal runs Nov. 29 through Dec. 5 and should see a similar sized crowd descend on the Playground Poker Club, a crowd that you could be among if you secure one of partypoker's $5,000 prize packages. Each package awards its winner:
- $3,650 WPT Montreal main event buy-in (CAD$3,850)
- $1,350 spending money
Every Sunday at 20:50CET (14:50ET), a $250+$25 WPT Montreal Satellite runs that guarantees at least one WPT Montreal package. Should the $275 asking price be too high for you, there are plenty of lower buy-in feeder satellites running with buy-ins ranging from $1 up to $30 — there are even daily freerolls for those players on the tightest of budgets.
Try winning your package this week and head to Montreal with partypoker and the WPT.
gnouhp Wins the Latest $200K Guaranteed Sunday
Last weekend's $200K Guaranteed Sunday ended in a four-way chop and this week's edition followed suit and finished in the same fashion.
The $200,000 guarantee was once against obliterated after 1,160 players bought in for $215 and created a prize pool of $232,000. As the tournament was still four-handed at the unholy hour of 5:30 a.m UK time, the final four players opted to chop the remaining prize pool four ways based on ICM (Independant Chip Model) calculations and end the tournament there and then.
At the time of the deal, gnouhp was the chip leader and therefore received the largest slice of the prize pool ($28,726) and was declared the champion of this week's tournament.
Be sure to check out the partypoker blog's recap of the final table action.
