New Milton Keynes Casino Proves Popular; Punter Wins an Audi Q5 Worth £40K
In early September, the United Kingdom’s second super casino opened its doors to the public and has since witnessed what its management team has described as a “whirlwind” start to business.
The Casino MK, owned by Aspers Group, opened for business on September 5 and has proven to be extremely popular with the local community. Situated in the Xscape complex on Marlborough Gate, Milton Keynes, The Casino MK is the largest UK casino outside London. The non-membership venue is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and features 108 slot machines, 22 gaming tables, 76 electronic gaming terminals and a 150-seat poker room.
Like most modern casinos, The Casino MK has plenty of option for non-gamblers, too. These include a 24-screen sports bar named Tanzibar, Clary’s Bar & Grill restaurant and live entertainment throughout the week.
Speaking about the influx of happy customers, General Manager Nigel Hartland said: “It’s is very encouraging to see so many people coming through our doors and having a great time. The responses have been very positive and we have really been welcomed in the city as a new, exciting and vibrant 24/7 entertainment venue.”
According to various publications, more than 12,500 people visited The Casino MK within the first four days trading.

“Almost half the people who come here will do so to relax with friends or family in an adult and relaxed atmosphere and we absolutely welcome that. We have an open door policy and everyone over the age of 18 is welcome,” added Hartland.
One customer who is delighted with The Casino MK’s offerings is Andrew Brisland (pictured), who this week won a brand new Audi Q5 car worth £40,000 in a promotional prize draw. Olympic medal-winning badminton star Gail Emms randomly selected Brisland’s entry from the thousands collected since the casino opened. Brisland can now choose his own Audi Q5 from the local Milton Keynes Audi dealership.
“It’s still really hard to believe,” said Brisland who then explained, “I was concentrating on my poker game and then I heard ‘Andrew’ being called out and thought that would be funny, then I heard my surname! It’s so hard to explain the feeling, nothing like this ever happens to me. Winning a car is life changing, even at my age.”
