Genting Club Blackpool Undergoes a £500,000 Renovation

The Genting Club Blackpool is to receive a £500,000 cash injection from Genting Casinos in an attempt to revamp the venue. Renovation work has already started at the Queens Promenade based venue, with Friday 15 November being the date pencilled in for the grand unveiling. The casino is staying open while the refurbishment takes place.

The cash injection will benefit all areas of the casino, although the contactors do have to follow strict guidelines because the venue is a listed building. Once the work is completed, there will be a new reception area, a brand new restaurant, and a trendy Fahrenheit bar, while the casino itself will have a more modern feel.

Graeme Fletcher, the Regional Director for Genting, said: “Blackpool has come a long way in recent years and this investment recognises the progress the town has made as a tourist and leisure destination. We are confident that this new investment will further enhance the facilities on offer to locals and visitors alike.

“This is an exciting development for Blackpool and we look forward to welcoming regular and new customers to celebrate our refurbishment with us.”

Genting Club Blackpool’s biggest and most prominent rival is the Grosvenor G Casino at The Sandcastle, which itself underwent an extensive refurbishment in 2007. The new makeover should help Genting attract more customers and keep the venue competitive against its main rival.

Earlier this week, Genting announced that the Dusk Till Dawn poker room in Nottingham is to host a leg of its popular Genting Poker Series in January. Rumours are circulating that there could be the addition of a Blackpool leg once the renovation work is completed — watch this space.
