The 2013 BoylePoker International Poker Open (IPO) Dublin Main Event has reached its halfway point with all three starting flights now complete and the 1,373 entrants whittled down to a more manageable 579.
Sunday sees the 93 Day 1A survivors, the 190 players who made it through Day 1B and the 296 hopefuls from Day 1C join together for the first time in the vast Regency Airport Hotel. Although the prize pool information is yet to be officially distributed, we believe the top 150 finishers will receive prize money, meaning three-quarters of the field will leave empty handed.
Topping Day 1C was Dennis Delos Reyesr; he ended the night with a stack worth 213,000. Reyesr was the only player to bag up more than 200,0000 chips, although the likes of Thomas Kammerinke (190,000), Wilhelm Soering (175,000), Colm Faulkner (170,000) and Thomas Roy (158,000) were not a million miles away from doing so.
Day 2 kicks off at 12:00 noon and the plan is to reduce the field as much as possible, burst the money bubble and march on towards the final table. There is zero chance of that final table being reached, but by the time play ends for the night, we will have a much clearer idea of who will make it to the final table of the 2013 IPO Dublin Main Event.
