Casino at the Empire’s Bad Beat Jackpot Approaching £1MM in Pay Outs
Bad beats are part and parcel of the game of poker, yet they are the bane of many poker players’ lives and the cause of much frustration, anger and the dreaded tilt monster! So why is it that poker players at the Casino at the Empire in London love bad beats? Could it be to do with The London Poker Room’s bad beat jackpot?
The current jackpot stands at more than £50,000, which when paid out will take the total paid out past the £1 million mark. The jackpot is triggered when four-of-a-kind deuces are beaten in a No Limit Hold’em cash game and sees the bad beat winner – that is the loser of the hand – awarded 50% of the jackpot, the winner of the hand 25% of the jackpot with the remaining 25% being shared by the other players at the table.
The three largest wins recorded topped the scales at £222,335; £128,705 and £118,421. Since its creation, the total prize money distributed stands at an impressive £951,502.15.
