The Village Green Card Club in Tallaght, South Dublin, is the venue for the 5th Annual Mini Series. The brainchild of renowned tournament director JP McCann, the Mini Series – often dubbed the Mini WSOP – sees six events take place between September 9 and September 14.
The first of these events took place last night, an exciting €100 buy-in Poker Triathalon that saw the players compete over three poker disciplines, much like the Mixed Max events at the World Series of Poker. If you missed that tournament, do not worry because there are still some absolute belters to get involved in. Check out the table below for more details.
|Date||Time||Tournament||Estimated prize pool|
|Tue 10 Sept||8pm||€100 ROE||€5,000|
|Wed 11 Sept||8pm||€250 Monthly Scalps||€10,000|
|Thu 12 Sept||8pm||€150 6-Max||€10,000|
|Fri 13 Sept||4pm||€60 Main Event Satellites||10 tickets|
|Fri 13 Sept||8pm||€350 Main Event||€25,000 Guaranteed|
|Sat 14 Sept||6pm||€150 Side Event||€10,000|
The eagerly anticipated Main Event is capped at 150 players, so we would urge anyone wanting to compete in it to secure their seat sooner rather than later. For your €350 you will receive 30,000 tournament chips and play to a superb blind structure that increases every 40-minutes. Due to popular demand, the Main Event is being played as a re-entry tournament so please bear that in mind.
Last year’s Main Event attracted a total of 160 players who created a prize pool of €50,400. The eventual champion, Chris O’Connor, walked away with €11,640 and bragging rights over his peers. PokerNews expects O’Connor to be at the Village Green Card Club for the Main Event where he will attempt to retain his title.
