Jude Ainsworth Maintains Lead in the UK & Ireland Rankings 0001

Ireland’s Jude Ainsworth is still the man to catch in regards to the UK & Ireland online poker tournament rankings. The Galway native is in the form of his life, form that has seen Ainsworth climb to eighth in the worldwide rankings.

Ainsworth’s two largest scores of the past week both stemmed from outright victories at PokerStars. The first saw Ainsworth take down the $22 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max for $2,720 and the second was also in a rebuy event, this time the $215 buy-in No Limit Hold’em $50,000 Guaranteed. That particular result added $16,806 to Ainsworth’s coffers.

Charlie Combes is Ainsworth’s nearest rival, albeit one who is almost 700 leader board points away from him. Combes had a near miss in the $100,000 guaranteed PartyPoker HighRoller event on July 21 when he finished third for $9,750 when there was $24,250.000 up top. Toby “810ofclubs” Lewis finished fifth in the same tournament.

Both Ainsworth and Combes need to watch their backs because Chris Moorman is looking to reclaim the number one spot in the coming weeks. In the past seven days, Moorman has won the $15,000 guaranteed rebuy on the iPoker Network for $4,150 and finished second in a Winamax tournament for $3,559.

Although the points will not count until they are next updated, in the last couple of nights Moorman has finished second in The Hot €50 at; second in the $162 Nightly Fifty Grand and last night came second in The Big $55. Combined, that trio of second places bagged Moorman over $23,000.
