APAT Heads to Nottingham for the UK Championship Of Amateur Poker 0001

The ever-popular Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) heads to the Dusk Till Dawn poker club in Nottingham this weekend as its seventh season continues.

The UK Championships Of Amateur Poker features seven events over the course of four days and each event will be almost packed to bursting by the time Simon Trumper, tournament director at DTD, utters those famous words, “Shuffle up and deal.”

The opening event is a team event that is not open to the general public because the teams have already been decided and registered via the vibrant APAT forum. The other events, as far as we are aware, still have places available, but they usually sell out fast so act sooner rather than later.

Season 7 of the APAT kicked off in June with the £75+£7 buy-in English Amateur Poker Championship that attracted 144 players to the G Casino in Coventry. By the time the dust had settled in Coventry, after two days of poker action, it was Warren Jones who had won all of the chips and the £3,025 first place prize.

Amazingly, Jones went back-to-back in August when he outlasted a 114-strong field in the APAT Welsh Amateur Poker Championship, netting himself £2,560 in the process. Can Jones make it an unprecedented hat trick – a true hat trick – in Nottingham. We will find out the answer to that question in a few short day’s time.
