Super Sunday Results Yet Again For UK & Irish Players
With the 2013 World Series of Poker over for all but nine players, the army of United Kingdom and Ireland players have returned home where they can grind online poker until their heart’s content.
UK & Ireland PokerNews always has one ear to the ground when it comes to results of our players in major online poker tournaments, but we always tingle with excitement on a Monday when we check out the results of the Sunday Majors.
Once again, our players outdid themselves on Sunday, with a number of our boys and girls bagging huge scores in the biggest events at PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker. Here’s a selection of the best results involving UK & Irish based players.
This week’s $109 buy-in Sunday Kickoff saw 1,437 players enter and create a prize pool of $143,700. Almost $10,000 of that prize pool — $9,711.60 to be exact – is now in the PokerStars account of Sam “SamSquid” Grafton thanks to the popular Brit finishing in fourth place.
Two of our players, who managed to navigate their way through to the final table of the $215 Sunday Warm-Up, helped themselves to huge scores. “fiscardddd” is now $13,700.50 richer after finishing in seventh place, while “Maggia10” chopped the remaining prize pool with three players remaining to walk away with $66,584.55. Amazing results, we are sure you will agree.
Ireland’s Gavin “gavonater” O’Rourke had a great Sunday too; O’Rourke finished fifth from a field of 2,777 in the Bigger $109. O’Rourke, of Port Laoise, netted $12,37.65 for his efforts.
This week’s Sunday Million, PokerStars’ flagship weekly tournament, saw 6,714 players head to the PokerStars branded virtual felt, creating a prize pool of $1,342,800 in the process. A large slice of that large sum of money is now nestled in the accounts of Brits after some superb performances. “Drysdale1990” (19th), “McAngus666” (13th) and “nurabsal” (10th) all had deep runs in this weekend’s Sunday Million.
“zOmgtiltz” crashed out in 6th place for $42,969.60, while “HustlaHux” went two places deeper and finished in fourth place for $73,854.00. The deepest run, however, was that of “squire1888” who busted in third place for $107,424.00, which was by far the largest cash of a UK or Irish player this weekend.
“Havana85” helped himself to $47,255.00 in prize money when he finished second in the Sunday $500, while “papier_mashe” (8th) and “roxy274” both had great results in The Bigger $162 – roxy274 chopped heads-up for $35,044.01.
Other shoutouts have to go to “horner26,” “Sngwonder,” and Ben “jenbizzle” Jones for deep runs in the Sunday Second Chance, Sunday 6-Max and Sunday Supersonic respectively.
Over at Full Tilt Poker, Chris Moorman finished 14th in the Sunday Brawl after finishing 10th in the same event last weekend. Tom “hitthehole” Middleton helped himself to $34,711.92 after finishing second to Canada’s Yann “yadio1111” Dion in the $250,000 Guarantee while Rick “TheClaimer” Trigg booked another win, and $28,255.50 in prize money, after defeating Maxim “KaKeTKa” Lykov heads-up in the T-Rex.
