The eagerly anticipated Full Tilt Poker Galway Festival begins on July 27 with the first events from its busy schedule. This amazing live poker festival has over 50 events planned and will be he largest-ever poker festival held in Ireland.
Two events take place on July 27 and both should see a good turnout for them. At 13:00, there is a €135+€15 No Limit Hold;em Galway Cup Day 1A that has an estimated prize pool of €100,000! Six hours later at 19:00, Day 1B (the final starting flight) of the Galway Cup starts and should be even more popular due to the tournament being a re-entry and those who bust from Day 1A are eligible to compete on Day 1B.
Later still at 22:00, there is a €50+€5 No Limit Hold’em Turbo Deepstack tournament for those players who want some late night poker action.
The highlight of the Full Tilt Poker Galway Festival is, without a doubt, the UKIPT Galway Main Event. The €1,100 buy-in UKIPT Main Events are always popular, but this particular tournament could break records thanks to there being a massive €1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool!
The last time that the UKIPT had a similar guarantee was at the UKIPT Nottingham Main Event where £1,000,000 was guaranteed. On that occasion, Robert Baguely outlasted a UKIPT record crowd of 1,625 players on his way to the £210,400 first place prize. Here at UK & Ireland PokerNews, we have a feeling that record could be on the verge of being broken.
Another highlight is the 2013 Irish Poker Championship, which is a €2,300+€200 event that prominent Irish pro Fintan Gavin created in 2006. Past winners of the Irish Poker Championship include Padraig Parkinson, Jude Ainsworth and Nick Abou Risk.
It is not only poker tournaments that are being played at the Full Tilt Poker Galway Festival as players will battle it out at the pool table, compete in the Irish Bridge Masters, “25” championship and cash games running on demand. Everything points towards an amazing spectacle and we cannot wait for it all to kick off.
