UK & Ireland Rankings: Chris Moorman Opens a Sizable Lead at the Top 0001

The UK & Ireland online poker tournament rankings are up to date and Chris “Moorman1” Moorman is still the man to catch, and by a now considerable margin.

In recent weeks, Moorman’s number one berth has come under threat from the likes of Ross “RLOG” Loggie and Sebastian “Seba29072” Saffari, but that threat looks to have been quelled for the time being thanks to Moorman putting in some fantastic results to open a sizable lead at the top of the standings.

Moorman picked up $26,213 and 285.33 leader board points for his sixth place finish in the PokerStars SCOOP Event #3 High buyin. One the same day as that impressive score, Moorman won the 209th tracked online tournament of his illustrious career when he took down the $109 Turbo 1R1A on PokerStars for an additional $20,349 and 327.26 leader board points.

Nobody is safe when Moorman is on form and that includes the French! On Wednesday evening, Moorman won the Hot €100 on With plenty of SCOOP events remaining on the schedule, we would not be surprised to see Moorman helping himself to even more cash over the course of the next couple of weeks.

Second place in the rankings, which use PocketFives’ formula, is the aforementioned Saffari. The Newcastle-based grinder’s biggest score of the past week tops the scales at $4,887, his reward for a third place finish in the PokerStars $55 rebuy.

Third placed Loggie also came close to yet more wins, but had to settle for a seventh place in the $109 rebuy at PokerStars, a third place in the $109 NL Hold’em 2R1A and a fourth place finish in The Big $162. That last result bagged the young Scot $14,117.

He may currently be occupying fourth place but if Jon “EMSBas” Spinks keeps up his recent form he will be ranked even higher next week. Spinks is one of the most consistent players in the modern game and that consistency continues to yield solid results.

In the past seven days, Spinks cashed 13 times, of which four were final table appearances and one of those was an outright win. Like the majority of the top 10 ranked players, we would expect Spinks to play a busy schedule in the run up to the World Series of Poker and that is bad news for anyone who finds themselves on his table.

The next time we report on the rankings we expect a certain Sam “SamSquid” Grafton to be back on the top 10 places. Grafton’s monster score of $103,428 in SCOOP Event #8 High also netted him 536.82 points and that could be enough to get his name back up in lights.
