Chris “Moorman1” Moorman is still the number one ranked online poker tournament player from the United Kingdom and Ireland, but the rest of the top 10 has had a reshuffle thanks to the huge sums of money being won at the PokerStars Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP).
Moorman maintained his lead at the top of the leader board after, once again, putting in some fine performances at the virtual felt. Some of the highlights from the past week or so include a victory in the €100 buy-in Night of Stars Turbo at PokerStars.Fr for $13,630, a runner-up finish in the $10,000 Guaranteed at Full Tilt Poker and a 12th place finish in the $2,100 buy-in SCOOP Event #32 for $9,984. By the time the rankings are updated again, Moorman’s third place finish in the PokerStars $265 No Limit Hold’em Knockout will count towards his already impressive points total, as will any other results that he is bound to have between now and the middle of the week.
Hot on Moorman’s heels, albeit around 350 points behind, is a man who is in blistering form right now, Charlie “chaz_man_chaz” Combes. It seems like every time we check the results of the biggest online tournaments Combes name is right up there at the top. Recent scores include a second place finish in the SCOOP #18 High for a massive $79,200, an outright win in SCOOP #15 High for $50,828, a runner-up finish in the $55 NL Hold;em Turbo 2x Chance and a second place in last night’s Sunday Kickoff that banked him $18,534. We will be speaking to Comes in the next few days to find out what has sparked this amazing form.

As you can see from the table above, Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer has returned to form and third place in the rankings, thanks in part to his massive score in the SCOOP #20 high event that saw him walk away with $131,955. Last night, Brammer won the $162 Sunday 6-Max at PokerStars, but points earned for that impressive result will not count until the rankings are updated on Wednesday.
Keeping with large scores, it is no surprise to see Jude “j.thaddeus” Ainsworth climb up into sixth spot after scooping $104,312 for his fourth place finish in SCOOP #29 High. Look out for another climb up the leader board next week after an impressive set of results this Sunday, including him binking the Sunday SuperSonic for $58,044!
Craig “mcc3991” McCorkell has started to hit form just in time for the World Series of Poker. Wins in last weekend’s Super Sized Sunday ($42,432) and The Hot $75 ($14,956) were followed up with a seventh place in the SCOOP #31 High for $32,755.
Many of the top 10 leave for Las Vegas this week but some may stay at home and give it one final push before jetting off to Sin City for the WSOP. Good luck to everyone, regardless of you plans!
