Matt Perrins wins the Sunday Second Chance at PokerStars

Matt Perrins

On Sunday, Matt Perrins took top honours in one of the toughest online poker tournaments, the $215 Sunday Second Chance.

The Sunday Second Chance carries a $175,000 guarantee, but this week the prize pool topped $313,600 after 1,568 players bought in. This huge sum of money found its way into the PokerStars accounts of the top 180 finishers with the likes of Andrew “stato_1” Hulme (148th), Jude “j.thaddeus” Ainsworth (119th), and “Fiskin1” (19th) each helping themselves to prize money.

The top prize in this weekend’s Sunday Second Chance topped the scales at $52,386.88 and that tidy sum is now nestled in the account of World Series of Poker bracelet winner Matt “pezler06” Perrins. Congratulations, sir!

Earlier on Sunday, the UK had four players in the final 12 places of the $109 Sunday Kickoff. Ben “F3nix35” Dobson crashed out in 12th place, while “FlopKiller75” and “Blue Whaler” busted in fifth and fourth place respectively. “LGJ88” went on to chop heads-up with Russia’s “IntentAction” for a score of $21,795.13.

Elsewhere, there were deep runs in The Bigger $162 for Paul “Senterpied” Senter (12th), Ireland’s “dmannyboy69” (8th) and Mitch “sirkingmitch” Johnson (6th).

The first two events from the 2013 Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) will be tied up tonight and the UK & Ireland is very well represented in each of the events’ three buy-in levels. Here’s to reporting on some more massive wins on Tuesday!
