Another Sunday has been and gone and yet again players from the UK & Ireland had some fantastic results in the Sunday Majors, not least Mathew “matfrankland” Frankland.
I remember when I first started playing online poker it was the $109 rebuy on PokerStars that was considered to be one of the toughest, if not the toughest, tournament anyone could play in. Now I would think the $162 buy-in Sunday Six-Max has taken that crown if this weekend’s stacked field is anything to go by.
A total of 1,014 players bought into this week’s edition of the Sunday Six Max and just look at some of the established pros who managed to navigate their way through to the top 114 places where the prize money was awarded. Among those who cashed included Matt “mjw006” Wakeman (110th), Sebastian “Bassysaffari” Saffari (100th), John “johne147” Eames (81st), David “davidv1213” Vamplew (56th), Kevin “WizardOfAhhs” Thurman (54th), Aaron “aejones” Jones (53rd), Kevin “Civell” Vandersmissen (51st), Fred “Fred_Brink” Brink (33rd), Team PokerStars Pro Matthias “mattidm” De Meulder (15th), Toby “810ofclubs” Lewis (13th) and Jon “PearlJammer” Turner (10th).
The final table was also full of talented players, including Joseph “subiime” Cheong who eventually busted in fourth place. Cheong’s finish was worth $10,266.75 but that amount was dwarfed by the $26,617.50 that our very own Mat Frankland was awarded for winning the Sunday Six-Max. A thoroughly deserved win and one that hopefully gets “Franky” out of his recent slump!

Congratulations!
