UK & Ireland Players Crush the Sunday Majors 0001

Once again, UK & Ireland poker players have done themselves proud by completely crushing this week’s Sunday Majors across the main poker networks. It seems that every Sunday final tables are full of our heroes and this week was no different. Check out some of the highlights below.

PartyPoker’s flagship tournament is the $215 buy-in $250,000 Guaranteed Sunday, a tournament that Andy Ward plays on a regular basis. Under the alias “TheSpider,” Ward almost went the distance before losing heads-up to “doyouhavefun.” For his second place finish Ward picked up $27,146, congratulations!

888 Poker

888 Poker is rapidly becoming the site of choice for many of the UK & Ireland grinders thanks to the superb selection of tournaments it now offers. One such tournament is the $215 buy-in $100,000 Mega Deep. In this MTT players start with 10,000 and play to 30-minute blinds, giving plenty of room for manoeuvre.

The final table saw two of our players present and correct, Jamie “1DonCorleone” Wilby finishing seventh for a score of $4,140 and "Dioszilla" coming third for an impressive $12,420. A mention must also go to Allan “Bigdaft37” Peers for his 12th place finish – a valiant effort.

iPoker Network

The iPoker Network hosts some fantastic Sunday tournaments, one of which being the $40,000 Sunday Second Chance. The $215 buy-in tournament attracted 22 players, one of whom was Gavin “gavbthreeone” Ball who finished fifth for $2,664.

This week’s $200,000 Sunday Special saw the buy-in halved to $120+$10 with the option to make a single rebuy for just $50. Despite this being amazing value the tournament still faced an overlay of more than $25,000. One player who used this to his advantage was Trevor “88QUATTRO” Dinneen who went all the way and claimed the $33,580 first place prize!

Full Tilt Poker

Gavin Ball’s Sunday continued to be amazing thanks to a third place finish in the $350,000 guaranteed worth $34,391.40. Charlie “chaz_man_chaz” Combes (14th for $2,440.68) and Ross “RLOG” Loggie (16th for $1,775.04) joined Ball deep in the tournament.

The $640 buy-in Super-Sized Sunday saw Loggie almost claim the win before falling in third place for $22,896. The young Scot was kept company by Stephen “stevie444” Chidwick (16th for $1,431.00) and Jude “j_thaddeus” Ainsworth (17th for $1,431.00).

Our first victory of Sunday went to Luke “LFmagic” Fields who won The Sunday Brawl for a cool $40,000. Fields had to navigate his way past the likes of Ryan “ryanghall” Hall and Paul “paulgees81” Volpe on his way to glory.

The $109 Sunday Kickoff on PokerStars produced another UK & Ireland win, this time it was “flukey111” who helped himself to a big score. The 1,730 entrants were outlasted and flukey111 saw $27,760 transferred to his PokerStars account.

Rake83’s” score of $40,181 for finishing fourth in the Sunday Warm-Up was the largest cash of UK & Ireland players until “Asquith31” chopped The Bigger $109 heads-up for a haul of $49,998.10. However, Weland “holly17” Holroyd was this weekend’s biggest winner because he finished third in the Sunday Million for a staggering $122,595.00!

Jesse “”TapeWormJim” Algranti boosted his bankroll by over $8,000 by finishing eighth in the Sunday 500 and he was joined in the winner’s circle by four Brits who reached the final two tables of the $162 Sunday Six-Max. “cheesytree” came 10th Tom “hitthehole” Middleton ninth and Kristian “UKKage” Linnell eighth. Charlie “JIZOINT” Combes busted in second place for an impressive $19,870.87.

We are sure you'll agree that these are some amazing figures from our players, here's to next Sunday being even more profitable.
