Genting Casinos have announced that Main Event Travel is their official travel partner for the Genting Poker Series (GPS) with immediate effect.
The GPS, now in its second season, has proven to be an extremely popular addition to the live poker calendar on the United Kingdom circuit. Its £440 buy-in deep stacked main events are always bustling; the most recent GPS event attracted 590 runners at the Star City casino in Birmingham.
Main Event Travel’s involvement will have numerous benefits for players who are competing in the various GPS events. At each stop, there will be a Main Event Travel concierge on site where players can book hotels, extends stays, discuss travel options and even book for the next leg.
Players who win their GPS seats via online satellites via Genting or Poker Encore will be automatically awarded a discount voucher that can be used for their accommodation at the leg they have won a set to.
Main Event Travel will also be spicing up the action at GPS events by sponsoring the Bounty Hunter tournament that is on all of the schedules. In each Bounty Hunter tournament there will be two Main Event travel branded players who will have an additional bounty placed on their heads. This bounty will be in the form of an additional £100 accommodation voucher, meaning if you knock out one of these players you will receive the £100 accommodation bounty and £25 in cash!
Furthermore, all Main Event Travel customers will be invited to participate in a last longer competition at each GPS event. The winner of the last longer competition will be presented with a bespoke prize to be taken at any future GPS stop.
Last, but certainly not least, is a free prize draw. Pay a visit to the aforementioned Main Event Travel concierge at the casino and you can enter your name into a free prize draw where one lucky player will become part of Team Main Event Travel for the next tour stop, which means free accommodation! Players will also be able to guess what the chip leaders stack will be on their start day and if they are correct, they will receive an accommodation voucher.
The Head of Poker Operations for Main Event Travel, Dale Garrad, said about the partnership.
“The GPS was phenomenally successful last year and by joining forces with us here at Main Event Travel, we firmly believe that the players will receive unrivalled value, service, and experience – all of which are key to the future of continued success of this great tour.”
The next stop on the GPS takes place in Newcastle from March 20-24, which is in just over two weeks’ time. This gives you plenty of opportunity to contact Main Event Travel via their website, or by calling 0845 094 1012 from the UK or +44 1372 466332 from overseas.
UK & Ireland PokerNews spoke to Main Event travel shortly before they launched last year and we were very impressed about the entire package. You can find the interview with Main Event Travel here.
