Chris Moorman Still Number One, But Rick Trigg and Sebastian Saffari Mounting a Charge

Chris Moorman

Chris Moorman has managed to hold onto the number one spot in the UK & Ireland rankings but he is under serious pressure from Rick Trigg and Sebastian Saffari, who are just 50 and 200 points behind him in the leader board.

Last week Moorman won a $100 buy-in tournament on the Ongame Network that added $4,048.10 to his lifetime winnings. That win, his 199th of his online career, and the other cashes he had over the week bolstered Moorman’s position in the worldwide rankings too. He is now ranked 15th in the world.

Trigg’s volume has died down over the past seven days, which may be influenced by the Cheltenham horse racing festival. Trigg is a big horse racing fan, maybe not so much after this week’s festivities if his Facebook statuses are anything to go by! The Sheffield lad is just 50 points away from Moorman’s heels and with the stakes he plays, a deep run will be enough to catch Moorman and knock him from his pedestal.

The aforementioned Saffari, who has been on a real tear of late, currently holds third place. A fourth place in the PokerStars.fr SCOOP Event #10 netted him an impressive $15,370 while second placed in the $33+R on PokerStars and in the PartyPoker $15,000 Gtd Speed tournament bagged him $2,190 and $2,436 respectively. Saffari recently passed the $2,000,000 barrier for career cashes and is definitely capable of claiming the number one slot for himself.

Rounding out the top 10 are Sam “TheSquid” Grafton, Main Event Travel sponsored pro Rhys “floppinhel” Jones, Paul “Senterpied” Senter, Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer, Ireland’s Jude “j.thaddeus” Ainsworth, Jon “EMSBas” Spinks and Ross “RLOG” Loggie.

When the rankings are next updated keep an eye out for the likes of Martin “molliemalone” Malone who has had some great results including a third place finish in The Big $55 earlier today that netted him $10,473.77. Also look out for Marc “dean23price” Wright who has slipped out of the top 10 but will be back putting in his huge volume now that the live London tournaments are all but completed.
