Brits Crush Stars Sunday Majors! 0001

Being the hub for UK & Ireland poker news nothing gives us greater pleasure than to log onto PokerStars to check the Sunday Majors’ results and finding that our boys and girls completely crushed at the virtual felt.

The PokerStars Sunday Major everyone wants to win is, of course, the $215 Sunday Million. Although we did not bring home the victory in this week’s edition of the Sunday Million, “timmybwee” almost went all the way and won, but fell in fourth place. However, not before he was part of a six-handed deal that saw him walk away with $115,710.18 for his efforts. Congratulations!

Following on from her near miss in the UKIPT Cork main event (she finished 19th), Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree had a very deep run in the Sunday Million too. Miss Boeree’s tournament came to an abrupt end in 27th place, good for $3,530.56. GG etc.

The $109 Sunday Kickoff was completely dominated by UK & Ireland players, with four of them reaching the final table! Ireland’s Mark “MarkECOOP” O’ Connor busted out in seventh place, “KLRUFC” finished in fifth, Tom “Mt. Spewmore” Langley came third for a $16,965.00 score while Mat “Checktrap11” Cuthbertson went all the way and won the tournament, taking home $30,160.68 for his troubles.

Elsewhere, namely the $215 Sunday Warm-Up, “JayP-AA” was busy finishing second and “fish&chips” eighth, the former having $84,000.93 deposited into his PokerStars account after a three-way chop.

Tom “7tHEcROw7” Macdonald won the $2,100 NLHE 6-Max SCOOP event in 2012 for a cool $298,200 and now has another massive score, one for $61,205.75 after chopping the $109+R Sunday Rebuy heads-up. “Crazy Elior” bubbled the final table and finished in tenth place.

The UK has an extra $100,000+ swimming around it after our residents killed the Sunday 500 on PokerStars. “KrazyKiddo” helped himself to $18,820 for his sixth place finish, Scotland’s “trickyone14” picked up $23,525.00 for coming fifth and although he is French (he lives in London so we have adopted him) Benjamin “MagicDeal” Pollak finished second for $60,365.15. Nice scores boys!

Are you still with us? Congratulations for getting this far. Not long to go now, but we still have some bragging to do! The Bigger $162 was profitable for two of our boys, Rhys “floppinhel” Jones (fifth for $12,981.75) and JP “MrBarrett82” Kelly (fourth for $17,969.47) both reached the final table but fell at the last hurdle.

frenzyca$h” will have fond memories of the $215 Supersonic, especially because he chopped it heads-up for a cool $50,728.58. A whole host of talented players joined him at the final table including David “dpeters17” Peters and Liam “moffo47” Moffett.

Last but not least, a pair of wins for UK-based players! “MrKloutt” won the $162 Nightly Fifty Grand, while “Be*Warned” took down the The Hot $109.

All in all, we are sure you will agree our boys and girls crushed Sunday’s this weekend!
