Jake Cody Joins Team PokerStars Pro

Jake Cody

PokerStars has added another talented poker player to its already impressive roster of Team PokerStars Pro – and it is one of our very own; Jake Cody.

Jake Cody Joins Team PokerStars Pro 101

Just before Day 1b of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event got under way yesterday, Daniel Negreanu – himself a Team PokerStars Pro – unveiled the Rochdale-born pro as the latest addition to the PokerStars stable.

As he put a Team Pro patch on Cody’s arm, Negreanu said, “PokerStars always look for young up-and-coming ambassadors for the game and I feel like we’ve found a gem. The youngest ever winner of the Triple Crown. He’s won a WPT, a World Series of Poker bracelet and more importantly an EPT. He combines poker skill with a gentlemanly demeanour as is expected in a PokerStars Team Pro. Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome Jake Cody to the team.”

Cody is indeed the youngest ever winner of the coveted Triple Crown of live poker titles, and he also did it in the fastest time of any other winner. The first prong of the crown came in January 2012 when he won the European Poker Tour Deauville Main Event for a cool €857,000. In September of the same year Cody won the World Poker Tour London Main Event for a £273,783 score and at the 2011 WSOP, Cody won the $25,000 No Limit Hold’em Heads-up Championship. That last victory netted then 22-year old $851,192 and was the third and final piece of the Triple Crown.

The PokerStars patches seemed to work well for Cody during Day 1b of the PCA main event as he finished with an 84,000 stack to safely make it through to Day 2. He would have had much more but, as his Tweet states, he lost a pot with {k-}{q-} versus {a-}{q-} late on.

UK & Ireland PokerNews would like to congratulate Cody on his sponsorship deal and wish him all the best at the tables.

When Cody decided to hit the virtual felt you will be able to find him on the PokerStars tables under the alias “jakecody.” You can join Cody by downloading PokerStars through PokerNews.
