The 2012 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) Champion of Champions tournament takes place tomorrow at the Grosvenor G Casino in Luton.
The tournament is a £100,000 freeroll that is only open to players who won a GUKPT Main Event or side event during the past season. The amount of chips players start with depends on which event or events they won during the previous year.
Champion of Champions Chip Allocation
|£1,000 Main Event||10,000|
|£500 Main Event||10,000|
|£500+ Side Event||8,000|
|£250-£499 Side Event||7,000|
|£100+ Rebuy Event||6,000|
|£100-£249 Side Event||5,000|
According to the list published on the GUKPT site, there are 99 players who are entitled to play in the £100,000 freeroll. The list itself is very confusing as it states Andrew Hills will begin with the most chips, with 20,000. Lee Taylor will start with 18,000 whilst the likes of Sam Grafton start on 15,000.
Competing alongside the aforementioned players are the likes of Mark McCluskey, Albert Sapiano, Jamie O’Conner, Simon Deadman and GUKPT regular Steve Holden. All in all it should be a fantastic tournament and it is a great gesture from the GUKPT organisers.
** Late Edit**
The Hendon Mob database contacted us over the weekend to state although their results for the GUKPT are complete, they do not track online leg results that also count towards the Champion of Champions. This should explain why some players started with larger than expect stacks.
