While the poker community may have one eye on the PokerNews updates from the Aussie Millions, a there are a large number of poker players who are focusing on matters a little closer to home.
The Dusk Till Dawn poker club are running a £300 buy-in version of their ever-popular Deepstack tournament and are hoping for a huge crowd to turn out for it as they are guaranteeing there will be at least £150,000 in the prize pool!
In exchange for £300+£36, players will receive 30,000 tournament chips and will play to a fantastic blind structure that increases every 40-minutes in the first instance, but increases to hour-long levels on the final table.
Day 1a of the £300 Deepstack begins at 19:00 on Jan. 31 and is only available to those playing on the Dusk Till Dawn online poker site. Day 1b and Day 1c will be played at the actual club at 14:00 on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2 respectively.
The £300 Deepstack is played to a +1 Re-Entry format, meaning players can re-enter on the next day following their elimination.
When Dusk Till Dawn ran a similar tournament at the start of 2013, the £150,000 guarantee was not only met but completely smashed. On that occasion, 727 buy-ins were taken and a prize pool of £218,100 created! This was shared among the top 99 finishers, a min-cash being worth £600 and the eventual champion, Martin Frey, taking home £44,303.70!
