Chris Moorman is the UK & Ireland’s Christmas Number One!

Chris Moorman

Chris Moorman, a name that is synonymous with online poker tournaments, has reclaimed the coveted number one spot in the UK & Ireland rankings. As the next update to the rankings is not due until Wednesday, Moorman is our Christmas number one!

When PokerStars bought the assets of Full Tilt Poker and repaid non-US players, Moorman must have been jumping for joy. Not only do we believe he had a substantial sum locked up on the site, and so did his horses, but Moorman used to crush the fields on Full Tilt Poker; something he has continued to do since the site relaunched.

On Monday Moorman finished fifth in the $1k Monday on Full Tilt, a result that bagged him $9,375.00. The Brighton-born online star has been hitting four-figure scores for fun, having six of them in the past week alone! It looks like Moorman is back to his best, and that is bad news for anyone in his tournaments!

One player who has shot up the rankings is Toby “810ofclubs” Lewis, who finds himself in third place. At the start of the month Lewis had two very impressive results, namely a third place finish in the $500 buy-in $100,000 guaranteed on PartyPoker and a second place finish in the €200 Sunday Six-max on Then on the Sunday that has just passed, Lewis took down the $100,000 guaranteed High Roller on PartyPoker for a score of $33,075.Sick life.

Another young man who has managed to find form during December is Jon “EMSBas” Spinks, who will see Christmas from his lofty seventh place rung on the UK & Ireland ladder. Spinks received a massive boost to his points tally when he won the Dec. 2 edition of the SuperSonic tournament on PokerStars, a result that bagged him $46,397.47, then the following day he finished third in the $500,000 guaranteed $1k buy-in on Full Tilt Poker for an additional $46,351.25! Not content with those score, Spinks went win to more five-figure scores, one for $18,351.24 and the other topping the scales at $10,982.92. Must be nice!
