One of the most popular stops on the long-running Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) is the Blackpool leg. Often dubbed the UK’s Las Vegas, the seaside town of Blackpool has something to offer to everyone.
GUKPT Blackpool is the penultimate stop on the 2012 GUKPT circuit — the only other GUKPT festival remaining being the Grand Final that takes place at the London Victoria Casino on Nov. 24 – and that should see a bumper crowd descend on the G Casino Sandcastle between Nov. 5-11.
Whoever heads down, or up, to Blackpool next week will be treated to a schedule full of excellently run tournaments. There will be £30 satellites to the main event sandwiched between £100, £200 and £300 buy-in events. Of course, there will also be the highlight of the festival, the £1,070 GUKPT Blackpool Main Event.

Last year’s GUKPT Blackpool Main Event saw 262 players pile into the G Casino Sandcastle, creating a first place prize of £72,020. This huge sum of money found its way into the pocket of Andy Peters after he managed to best a talented final table that was the home to the likes of Jack Ellwood, Rupinder Bedi and Peters’ heads-up opponent Ben Jackson. There is no reason to think the latest edition of GUKPT Blackpool will be any smaller than that massive attendance, which means someone could be helping themselves to a nice not-so-little bonus just in time for Christmas!
