GUKPT Luton Begins On Monday 15 October

Charles Chattha; Reigning GUKPT Luton Champion

The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) heads to Luton on Oct. 15 for the 11th leg of its sixth season. If last year’s festival is anything to go by then the Luton leg should attract some of the country’s biggest names and most familiar faces.

Kicking off the week-long festival is a £100+£10 No Limit Hold’em event that sees players start with 7,500 chips and play to a 25-minute blind structure. Other highlights include a two-day £300+£30 No Limit Hold’em freezeout, a £250+£25 Pot Limit Omaha (re-entry), a £200+£20 Six Max tournament and the £1,000+£70 GUKPT Luton Main Event.

Last year’s GUKPT Luton Main Event attracted a 212 strong crowd, in which were some superb poker players. The tournament paid out the top 22 finishers and they included Paul Vas Nunes, James Akenhead, reigning ANZPT Melbourne champion Sam Razavi, Joe Grech, Andrew Feldman, former European Poker Tour Vilamoura winner Toby Lewis and the eventual winner Charles Chattha; the latter beating Lewis heads-up to claim the £59,360 first place prize.
