Gabriel Tuna Wins The Latest Fox Poker Club Main Event

Gabriel Tuna

The Fox Poker Club, London, hosted its monthly Main Event over the weekend and it was once again a roaring success. The latest edition of the FPC Main Event saw 68 player part company with £400, beating the £25,000 guaranteed prize pool by £2,200.

The field size was down on previous FPC Main Events but with UKIPT Newcastle and the Sky Poker Tour Grand Final taking over 800 potential customers away, plus the fact many will have been keeping their cash for the upcoming English Poker Open, it was still a good turnout for the popular Fox Poker Club.

With 68 runners, the £27,200 prize pool was shared out among the top seven finishers, a min-cash being worth £1,090 and the eventual champion walking away with a not-too-shabby £10,330. That eventual champion was Gabriel Tuna who showed, despite his name, that he isn't a fish as he came back from a 3:1 chip defecit in his heads-up battle with Marc Daubach. The final hand saw the duo get their stacks into the middle, Daubach with {K-}{Q-} and Tuna with the monster that is {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}. No drama from the board and Tuna's comeback was complete.
